Biography
Helen King is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Ryten Lab at the UK Dementia Research Institute, University of Cambridge. She completed her PhD in Bioinformatics at the Garvan Institute, UNSW, and EMBL-Australia, where her research focused on using single-cell sequencing to investigate RNA regulation across immunological disease and breast cancer, encompassing VDJ, nascent, long-read, and CRISPRi single-cell approaches. Prior to her PhD, Helen completed an MRes in Biomedical Science with a specialism in Bioinformatics and Data Analysis and a BSc in Biochemistry, both at King's College London. In the Ryten Lab, Helen is developing novel computational approaches to understand how alternative promoter usage, transcription initiation, and transcript isoform diversity within neurodegenerative diseases.
