Biography

Hannah completed her MSci at UCL, where her Master’s project investigated proteostasis in aging C. elegans at the Institute of Healthy Aging. She has five years of experience in Long Read Sequencing, which she initially started at the Anthony Nolan Research Institute where she worked as a Research Assistant for two years. There, she did PacBio sequencing of HLA class I and class II genes with the aim to improve stem cell transplant outcomes and matching. In 2021 she moved back to UCL as a Senior Research Technician, where she lead the UCL Long Read Sequencing Service. She has worked on a wide range of projects, from de novo genomes to targeted transcriptomics, and utilising both Oxford Nanopore and PacBio technologies. In 2023 she joined the Ryten lab as a PhD student, where she will apply her knowledge of Long Read Sequencing to Parkinson’s Disease Transcriptomics.
